Milarepa is revered as a Buddhist saint. He went from murderer to Bodhisattva in just one life. The Kagyu lineage of Tibet comes down from Milarepa and his teacher Marpa.He is commemorated on the 14th day of the 1st lunar month (which can be interpreted as 14th January).
